We’ve been playing with the acrylic string pull technique for a while, and today we made a painting of a pretty flower, with petals made with some gorgeous colors and strings. Watch the satisfying video until the end and share your thoughts below. What else could we make using this technique?
Friends, thank you all for your support, sweet comments, and wonderful suggestions! If you’re gonna try this at home, please note that for this fluid art project, we’ve mixed the acrylic paint the same way as for pouring, with floetrol and water. The proportions are:
1 oz of acrylic paint
1 oz of floetrol
0.5 oz of water
For the string pull technique we used cotton twine, and for the beautiful cells you can see at the end, we used a silicone spray. As you can see, we first coated the canvas with a white base, made from white acrylic paint, floetrol, and water. Then, we dipped the strings in paint, placed them on the canvas and pulled them. We poured some yellow paint inside a cookie cutter, then sprayed the painting with a silicone spray, and the flower was ready.
