Here’s another acrylic pouring experiment we made, using star cookie cutters, a syringe, a thin brush and some beautiful colors we mixed ourselves. Read the whole description for more details and watch the satisfying video until the end to see the final result.
Friends, in this art experiment, we tried a lot of stuff and we’ll try our best to describe everything here. First, we coated the canvas with a white base – made from acrylic white paint, floetrol and water – for the paint to slide better on the canvas. Please note that all the paint we used was previously mixed with floetrol and water, here are the exact proportions:
1 oz of acrylic paint
1 oz of floetrol
0.5 oz of water
After pouring the paint in lines, we used a piece of paper and pulled the paint on the canvas, then we poured some more paint and added a few drops of silicone, and pulled the paint once again. We heated the paint with a blow torch to form the cells within the paint, then placed the cookie cutters on the canvas. Now, we have learned from a previous experiment what exactly happens when you pour paint inside the stars, but we figured that even though paint won’t preserve the star shape, we can still use them in order to make some pretty pretty flowers. So, we poured some more paint inside the stars, mixed the colors, pulled up the extra paint using a syringe, then made the contour with a thin brush.
