Here’s another fun experiment we tried! This time we combined acrylic pouring, blow painting with a straw and a silicone basting brush, added a mix of colors that reminded us of the ocean, and made a beautiful painting of a jellyfish! Friends, you know how like to try new stuff and experiment with all kinds of tools (especially kitchen tools lol). This time we use a straw and a silicone basting brush we found in the kitchen drawer. First, we prepped the acrylic paint, including the white we used as a base, with floetrol and water. Here are the exact proportions:
1 oz of acrylic paint
1 oz of floetrol
0.5 oz of water
We poured the paint on a small area, sprayed it with a silicone spray, then gently blew air through the straw, in order to spread the paint in the shape we wanted. Using the silicone brush, we finished the jellyfish shape, then heated the painting with a small blow torch, in order to form the cells withing the paint. What do you think?
