We love playing with acrylic pouring and the string pull technique. In today’s fluid art project, we chose to use red and black, and for the first time, we tried pulling a significantly longer string (to be honest, it was harder then we expected). Friends, we really appreciate all your your comments and suggestions! If you’re gonna try this at home, please note that the acrylic paint we used in this art project was previously mixed with floetrol and water. Here are the proportions:
1 oz of acrylic paint
1 oz of floetrol
0.5 oz of water
We’ve also used cotton twine for the string pull and a silicone spray for the cells we made at the end. As you can see, we first coated the canvas with a white base, made from white acrylic paint, floetrol, and water. Then, we dipped the strings in paint, placed them on the canvas and pulled them. At the end, we sprayed the painting with a silicone spray to make those nice bubbles and that was it. Be extra careful when you place the strings on the canvas – We’re sure you noticed the black drops 😉 – it looked gorgeous at the end, but that cute black spot was obviously not planned.
