Here’s another pretty multi color flower we made using the string pull technique. We like to experiment a lot in our acrylic pouring projects, and this time we tried pulling a significantly longer piece of cotton twine and a combination of 7 amazing colors. If you’re gonna try this at home, please note that the paint we use in our art projects is acrylic paint mixed with floetrol, silicone fluid and water. Here are the proportions:
1 oz of acrylic paint
1 oz of floetrol
0.5 oz of water
a few drops of silicone fluid (5-6 in each color)
As you can see in today’s art video, we poured the colored acrylic paint on a long piece of cotton twine. After that, we coated the canvas with a white base which was made from white acrylic paint, prepped with floetrol and water. We carefully placed the string on the canvas, then slowly pulled it. We used a small blow torch to form the bigger cells within the paint, then sprayed the painting with a silicone spray, to form the tiny ones. We just love the final result! What do you think?
