Friends, if you’re interested in acrylic pouring, you should know that the paint we use in our projects is acrylic paint, mixed with floetrol and water. Here are the proportions:
1 oz of acrylic paint
1,5 oz of floetrol
1 oz of water
We always begin by coating the canvas with a base (made with acrylic paint, floetrol, and water), so the poured paint can easily slide on the canvas. We love forming cells within the paint, and sometimes we do that by mixing a few drops of silicone fluid in the acrylic paint, while other times, we just spray the painting with a silicone spray. In this project, you’ll notice some tiny bubbles being formed at the end – they were made by a silicone spray. Instead of handling the canvas, we chose to move the paint with a blow dryer, because it’s easier to control the direction where the fluid paint goes. As you’ll see in the video, we improvised with a tube from a paper roll, for easier control. What do you think about this acrylic paint experiment?
