My friends and I have a drink paint night once a month. It didn't start out as a tradition but, now that we're doing it more frequently, I wanted an easel. I was looking for something inexpensive that still looked relatively sturdy. This seemed like it would fit the bill based on its A-frame design and the chain piece. I thought this was going to be alright but nothing special. It's actually surprisingly nice. The wood is smooth and stained a pretty cherry color. It was pretty easy to follow the instructions to assemble it. The part of the instructions that wasn't very clear was about attaching the chain. My husband was able to use his building commonsense (he works in construction) to figure it out quickly. The end with the little screw has to be forced into the back leg. My husband was able to to do this with his drill by taking out the drill bit and wedging the round part into the grooves where the drill bit usually goes. You might be able to use a thumbtack to make the hole then push in the little screw. 🤷‍♀️ The other end of the chain clips onto the circle at the front of the easel. I placed a couple of our (very mediocre) paintings on the ledge to show what it looks like with paintings resting on the ledge. Essentially, if you are looking for a top of the line easel, this might not be the product for you. If you are looking for something inexpensive that is really great for casual painting, this is perfect.
CONTEXT: I was looking for an inexpensive easel for our "Welcome to our Wedding" sign. I couldn't seem to find what I was looking for and this was the only one that fit the bill, so I purchased it!PROS:- It's nice and stylish!CONS:- It is very, very flimsy. Not sure how it will hold up outside in the elements.- The instructions that came with the easel were not very intuitive or good at giving directions. Thankfully, I could figure it out, but I am still not sure if I put it together correctly or not.- The hardware that came with this product are kind of sloppy (almost like we got the rejects of the bunch), so it makes the overall aesthetic not as nice as it could be.- There is no where to connect the chain on the legs!OVERALL:This easel is just meh. If I had the time to find a new one, I would have spent the time looking. If you can, put your money elsewhere.
There are several problems with this product:-The top most part is bent at an angle meaning when I put something on it to present, instead of it favoring straight ahead it is leaning to the right-The top is also uneven (no it is not the legs) I mean the whole top is at 135 degree angle-The screws are the top do nothing to stabilize the top part-Throughout the process of putting everything together multiple rubber parts were falling off the easel and clips-There were no instructions to help put it togetherOverall I’m very unsatisfied with this purchase and will be returning it.
