For this acrylic pouring project, we chose colors resembling the Northern Lights, and decided to mix them in a plastic ice scoop, instead of a cup. Watch the satisfying video until the end to see the final result and let us know what you think!
Friends, if you’re gonna try this at home, please note that the acrylic paint we used was previously mixed with water and floetrol. Here are the proportions:
1 oz of acrylic paint
1 oz of floetrol
0.5 oz of water
First, we coated the canvas with a black base – made from black acrylic paint, also prepped with floetrol and water. Then, we mixed black and white paint to get the “night sky” effect, poured it on the canvas, and spread the mix using a palette knife. Afterwards, we sprayed it with a silicone spray and got those pretty white spots resembling the stars. In a plastic ice scoop, we mixed the rest of the colors, poured them, and handled the canvas.At the end, we heated the painting with a blow torch to form cells within the colored paint, and that’s about it!
