The easel came in within the shipping time given which is a huge plus for me. I love how it was packaged and the product overall was great. The dimensions of the board were spot on, no scuffs, dents, or even un-leveled board cuts. However, one of the benefits to this easel is also one of its biggest weaknesses, which is how light weight it is. Its a huge plus for being light because its easy to pick up and move around you desk with little to no effort, however its light weight build makes it difficult to lean on and draw onto if put onto a desk with very little friction. I am a very heavy handed artist, so when I did a force study or pressure test to see how it would effect the movement of the easel it failed pretty bad. This might be a make or break it to some people but I just DIY-ed the easel by adding some hot glue to the bottom of the support stand to create the friction I needed to prevent the board from slipping and sliding around my desk. It worked perfectly so now its perfect for my drawing habits. I hope this helps!
This is a nice sturdy tabletop easel. The wood is of good quality, smooth with no rough edges. I added dollups of a rubber tool coating product to the corners of the base to make more slip resistant and cut additional adjustment notches to enable nearly vertical positioning of the drawing surface.
I bought the desk easel, encouraged by the star ratings. The box it came in was in better shape than the desk easel. The piece upon which the whole thing operates was not cut so that it would fit flush with the easel top which explained why no amount of tightening with a screwdriver would attach these two pieces. The screws seemed to have nothing to grip into. I suspect instead of pilot holes, someone just drilled into the easel top with a bit the same diameter as the screws used. For $30. I'm not going to rebuild this thing. I guess I'll steer clear of similar items for $15! So much for star reviews.
