Our latest acrylic string pull project came out perfect! We love experimenting with acrylic pouring, the string pull technique and all kinds of tools, and today we’ve found the best use for a ring. Watch the satisfying video until the end to see the final result!
Thank you all for sharing your thoughts and suggestions in the comments! For this project we used acrylic paint that was previously mixed with floetrol and water, cotton twine, silicone spray and a ring. The paint/water/floetrol proportions are:
1 oz of acrylic paint
1 oz of floetrol
0.5 oz of water
First, we cut two long pieces of cotton twine and soaked them in paint, near the canvas. Then, we coated the canvas with a white base, made with white acrylic paint – also prepped with floetrol and water. As you can see, we left the middle of each string clean, so the center of the ‘flower’ would remain white. Very carefully, we placed the strings on the canvas, and using a wire we pulled the strings through the ring. After that, we sprayed the painting with a silicone spray, to form those beautiful cells.
