Experimenting with acrylic pouring and the string pull method is so satisfying. It’s so relaxing, it works like therapy! In today’s video we tried a colorful string pull on a yellow background. Watch the satisfying video to see how it went and share your thoughts below!
Friends, for the string pull technique, we prep the acrylic paint the same as for acrylic pouring, with water and floetrol. Here are the proportions:
1 oz of acrylic paint
1 oz of floetrol
0.5 oz of water
For the string pull method, we use cotton twine. After adding the base, we placed the pieces of twine on the canvas, poured the paint over them, then slowly pulled them. We love forming cells within the paint, and sometimes we do that by mixing a few drops of silicone fluid in the acrylic paint, while other times, we just spray the painting with a silicone spray. In this project, we chose to use the spray, right before placing the strings.
